Spatial Validation of Single Cell Transcriptomics (RNAseq) in Intact Tissues

Characterizing the transcriptomic profiles of individual cells or nuclei by RNAseq has become a universal tool to identify both known and novel cell types. However, as RNAseq utilizes dissociated cells, this results in the loss of spatial organization of the cell population being analyzed.


The RNAscope technology is a robust, highly specific, and sensitive RNA ISH methodology with multiplexing capabilities of <48 biomarkers to validate and provide spatial information for high-throughput single cell transcriptomic results. RNAscope allows for cell type specific expression profiles to be mapped back to the tissue context of complex and heterogenous organs and tumour at single cell resolution. With its highly sensitive and specific detection, RNAscope technology can spatially detect virtually any target, in any species, in any tissue at single cell resolution.
